Where Have I Been These Past Two Months?

Where Have I Been These Past Two Months?

I sent my last newsletter to you loyal subscribers on June 17. So, you’re surely entitled to wonder what I’ve been up to over the last two months, and I’m happy to share!

First, I’ve taken a hiatus not only from the newsletter. For the most part, I’ve also taken a break from Indigo store promotions. Why?

My wife, Linda, had replacement knee surgery in the Spring, and I’ve played an active role in her excellent recovery. I’ve been walking Joey—her precious 5-year-old Morkie—twice a day. The little fellow is in great shape, and revels in his self-appointed role as our neighborhood ‘greeter’. He’s made tons of new friends and introduced me to several on our twice-daily walks.

Linda is progressing well and will undertake stage 2, with replacement of her right knee in September, so I’ve helped with her stretching, conditioning and mental preparation for yet another round.

“But what about writing?” you may well ask. Well, despite those important distractions, I’ve now finished the first draft of Number 9. It took longer than I hoped, but I love the story and am now actively editing and improving it.

With some confidence, I can now promise the release of my next novel in the first quarter of 2026. Some of you know my routine. For the next couple months, I’ll be reading, reviewing, and revising to hone the story. During the following two months, trusted professional editors will scour and suggest further improvements to a draft I’m already comfortable with. In December, a proofreader will catch any mistakes we missed in the editing process.

While all that is going on, a professional graphic artist will design a cover and book layout. Early in the New Year, I’ll give final approval to the entire project and schedule a release to you supportive readers!

In the meantime, I thank all who ordered the 3-or-5-book bundles I offered at special prices in that June 17 message. I value your support!

If you’re looking for a special gift for a friend or family member in the coming few weeks, please remember the special prices I’m still offering, with shipping and taxes included, that expire on Labor Day. Click here to order now.
