Reflection is Good

Reflection is Good

I take a trip each November. Of course, I love to see the world, but my main goal is to create some time and space for clear, focused thinking.

I like to believe that I’m thinking all the time, but November escapes allow me to thoroughly reassess how things went in the current year and consider alternatives and priorities for the coming year. I’ve only been here in the Azores for less than a week, so that process has only begun.

Still, I owe it to you, my readers, to share the few conclusions I’ve already reached. I know many of you wonder if I’m here working on book #9, for example. And the answer to that is no.

There will be a ninth installment to the Multima Saga, but I won’t start drafting it until a trip to Asia in January. I’ll work on #9 steadily throughout 2025 but plan to release it in early 2026. Why so long?

Another decision I’ve made in my first few days here is to devote more time to personal priorities while reducing my workload related to writing, editing, publishing, and selling books. Age is creeping up on me, and I’ve decided to focus more on quality of life than literary output.

I’ve renewed a long-time commitment to fitness that slipped somewhat with all the competing priorities. I want to spend more time enjoying family, both those closest as well as our extended families and friends. To do those things, I’ll need to reduce the amount of time I write every day as well as the amount of time I devote to promotional work.

So, I ask you to be patient with me. There will be a #9 and probably a #10 sometime after. When I finish them, I’m confident you’ll enjoy both stories. In the meantime, I’ll be grateful for your support to encourage your family and friends to read and enjoy all 8 current titles in the Multima Saga!
