Another Year Races Towards Completion

Another Year Races Towards Completion

As my visits to Indigo stores in Ontario wind down over the next few days, I’m amazed at how quickly the past ten months have rushed into history. It feels like mere weeks have passed since I strolled the streets of Ho Chi Minh City in January or Haneda this past February!

I can also clearly remember how I felt as a ten-year-old old those same few weeks before year-end—when an impatience for the magic of Christmas seemed like an eternity. Why have I experienced such dramatic changes in perspective? It’s a reality of maturing and aging. Experts tell me the phenomenon, and its contrasts, will only accelerate.

“So, what does this have to do with writing?” you might ask.

First, it’s a reminder to me that your support carries tremendous value. When you click forward one of my social media posts, visit an Indigo store to say hello, buy and read one of my titles, or pass on good words about my books with reviews and comments, I understand you’re investing valuable time that you could use for other purposes.

So, thank you for all that you’ve done!

Secondly, my awareness of time management tells me it’s time to slow the pace somewhat. You may have noticed that novel number 9 has taken longer to prepare than earlier books. But we are approaching its release! I’m doing another round of edits this month, and plan to reveal the exciting new cover design to you in December. I’m confident we’ll have it with the printers by March 2026 and ready for you to purchase soon after.

The other time-management change you’ll notice in 2026? My store promotions will decrease. I’m currently working on my schedule of signing events, and I plan to conduct about 40% fewer next year. That will also result in less social media cluttering your pages and fewer requests for your help promoting those events.

Until then, I would like to express sincere thanks for all you do to help my publishing and book-selling endeavors succeed. It wouldn’t be possible without you!
